One of the key things that is always in the back of our minds here is the workflow of curation and content marketing. We are always looking for ways to make it smarter and quicker.
The new Click to Draft feature for the Listening Engine really gives you the ability to up your curation process. To see this feature in action and with some tips scroll down for a full tutorial video.
Here’s how it works….
The Click to Draft feature allows you to quickly select a piece of content within your Listening Engine and a draft post will be created.
It’s real simple to use. When you mouse over or (click in a mobile device) you’ll see a list of categories on your site. Simply click the category you want the draft post to be created in and continue on sifting, sorting, and discovering content.
When your ready to go in and publish your post you’ll see the category, title, snippet, image, attribution link, and image attribution link has been automatically created for you. Note: there is an option for your image to be set automatically as your featured image for that post.
All that is left is for you to add some commentary and click publish.
If you scroll down to the Curation Suite visual editor you’ll notice that the link you saved will be waiting there for you. This is here for if you want to go through the standard curation process you are already used to within Curation Suite. Clicking on the link will take you to that link. Clicking on the Load Link will load the link in the Curation Suite visual editor.
A Perfect Team Curation Tool
This new feature for the Listening Engine is great for a single curator. Using it in a team environment is even better.
Here’s how we’ve seen this put into action:
In this scenario typically you have a master curator (maybe that’s you) who specifies which stories that need to be curated.
As your browsing though content you use the Click to Draft feature to create draft posts.
Your writers or editors will then come into the site and load up only the draft posts. Typically they will then digest the story, add some commentary and publish. Or if you have an editor they will assign the post to an editor to review and publish.
